How does Voksha connect to our restaurant's existing phone line?

Voksha works with whatever phone setup you already have, a traditional landline, a VoIP system like RingCentral or a restaurant-specific system, or even a cell phone the owner uses as the main line. You don't need new hardware or a phone system replacement. Setup is done through call forwarding: you either forward your existing restaurant number to Voksha directly, or set up conditional forwarding so calls only route to Voksha when the line is busy, unanswered after a set number of rings, or during hours the front desk isn't staffed, like after close on a Thursday when someone's calling about a Saturday reservation.

Most restaurants use conditional forwarding rather than routing every call to Voksha immediately. That way, if a host or manager is free and picks up within two or three rings, they handle it as usual. If the phone is still ringing because the host is seating a party of 8, or because it's 9pm on a Sunday and no one's on the floor, Voksha picks up instead of the call going to voicemail or ringing out.

There's no port-out process, no waiting on your existing carrier, and no downtime, your restaurant keeps its existing number the whole time. The forwarding setup itself takes a few minutes and can be adjusted or reversed instantly if you want to change how calls route during, say, a private event night when you want every call answered live by staff.
